my hd went out in slim ps3 put new one in but wants 3.41 firmware i put on flash drive but ps3 does not reconize it what do i need to do to get ps3 up and going do i need to format fat32 on pc and put firmware on it or what i am a newbee to this i had it jailbreked but lost everything thank you and sorry if i posted in wrong forum i looked around but could not find anything as far as replacing a hd that went out thanks in advance lbbruiser

formate usb stick fat 32 then
on the usb stick make a folder called PS3 then in the folder PS3 make a folder called UPDATE then in the folder UPDATE put the 3.41 update and connect to ps3 and try

Hello.
Does it say "No applicable data was found" or error 8002F2C5 or similar?
If the former, you probably didn't set things up correctly.
You need the USB flash drive to be formatted in FAT32. On that flash drive, create a PS3 folder, inside which you have to create an UPDATE folder. Inside that UPDATE folder, place the update PUP (it must be named PS3UPDAT.PUP).
The flash drive must be placed on the right port of the PS3.

If you have 8002F2C5 error "Update data is damaged" then you have 3.41v1 that has a known bug, and can only be recovered with a flasher.

thanks that worked perfect you guys are the greatest!!! i have ps3fat that works fine iget blue and green light when on but it started by not recocnizing blu-ray thats why i got the slim then the fat stopped reconizing dvds can anyone help thanks in advance
