Psychedelic Images in Science

I hope this section is the correct one. it is fitting in my opinion. I came across this awesome gallery of psychedelic images all produced in the name of science when reviewing a technique called optogenetics (these images are unrelated to this technique however). I just thought I would share them with you all, perhaps some artist can become inspired.

Be sure to read the descriptions, you will appreciate the image much more if you do.My favorites are the olfactory overload and the ultra zoomed in bubbles...

I thought fractals were made in the interest of mathematics?

That's true. I guess they threw them in the mix on account of them being used in physics. If you think about it, it would be impossible to carry out any other discipline of science without physics and thus mathematics is very much a fundamental aspect of science. I guess since majority of the images were science related they felt it was Okay?

That would be amazing if you did. I might be able to find some better images though. I'll put them on this thread when I have the time. Damn good idea..

A dynamic theme, using fractals generated based on buttons and stick movements...it might take everything the PS3 has, but it would still be very cool.

Someone's never played with a 3DO. Best visualization ever made!
