He's actually right. Downgrading from 3.73 to 3.72 isn't an option. See below.

Doesn't work. Actually you can, but you're stuck in service mode. Once you've flashed a lower (syscon version check patched) version, you can only up/downgrade in service mode. So, it's a no-go for versions >3.55. You can re-flash the version that equals your syscon version.
