PS3 3.72

Hey guys, I'm new to the whole jailbreaking/hacking PS3 scene.
I hope you guys can help me, is there any way to hack a PS3 currently on 3.72?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you, and have a nice day.

you will need to downgrade via progskeet to 3.55 official firmware then install 3.55 custom firmware

so you gota open up your ps3 and do some soldering then downgrade and then install the custom firmware

Yes and No.

With your current FW its not possible to jailbreak, if you buy a progskeet (which requires for you to open up your PS3 and do quite a lot of soldering) you can flash your PS3 back down to whatever firmware your PS3 originally came with.

If your PS3 came with anything above 3.55 you are screwed, sell your PS3 and find a PS3 that hasnt been updated past 3.55 and you wont have to go through so much stress.

Hope this answer makes more sense than those above it.

Thanks for the quick replies guys.
I was wondering, what if I waited out?
After seeing this http://www.ps3hax.net/2011/10/how-to...-key-released/
Isn't another cfw for the PS3 imminent?

Also, I believe I have a 20gb phat PS3, it has 4 usb slots on the front, it doesn't have wifi, but it lets me play PS2 games.

You can if you want, that news doesent neccisarily mean cfw is coming within the month but it is a good bit of hope that it will happen soon. Might be worth waiting if your planning on saving up some cash for the holiday releases.

Hi, first of all download a file called 'MinVerChk' you can easily find it on google then make a folder on a flash drive called 'PS3' in that folder make another called 'UPDATE' in that folder put the 'MinVerChk' which will be called 'PS3UPDAT.PUP' and then plug that in your ps3 and then go to updates as if you were going to install an update (dont worry it wont affect your ps3 in anyway and you don't need to be on CFW) and it will then popup with a message if in that message it say something about the lowest firmware you can go down is 3.56 or higher then sorry you cant downgrade at the current moment as that is the firmware your ps3 came with and in that case you may have a ps3 with a new motherboard that cant be downgraded here is an example of one of those models: CECH-2504A.

But if you get a message that says anything about 3.55 or below your then in luck. You will need a downgrader, I would recommend progskeet as their are a few issues with E3 Flasher so progskeet I prefer as they have been around longer but you will have to wait about 10 days in which their NOR solderless clips will be release unless you are good at soldering then buy one now (buy the v1.1 as it the newer chip) and then just find a guide to help you downgrade (The guides you will find will be explaining how to downgrade from 3.70 but dont worry the same applies for 3.72 or 3.73). Hope this answer your question

Yea it is hey its also on the bottom and back of the box your console came in then you purchased it hey, also use 'MinVerChk' as that can tell you what is the lowest firmware you can downgrade to so a console with the model I mentioned or any other new motherboard wont let go low enough to install CFW sadly.
