Hmm everything sounds right except the dongle....i don't remember there needing to be a dongle in the dual boot method, I might be wrong though.

I only remember needing a flasher, 2 HDDs, or the other way I think was the dual flash and 2 HDDs. Again I might be wrong.

if my ps3 model can't be downgraded to 3.55 and i try to downgrade it to 3.55 with this flasher what will happen?
because my ps3 according to this table could be downgraded but when i use that fake update that shows the lowest firmware it shows that my base firmware is 3.56!

From what I've gathered, you still need a dongle to put the console in factory mode. I don't remember when you need it, it's somewhere in their manual at their site: http://www.e3-tech.net/download.html

Every time you downgrade, you need to format you HDD, that's why the 2 HDDs are handy, but you still need to change the fw by flashing the NOR.

Honestly, I don't know if you can just flash back to ofw 3.55 and remove the E3. The hardware feels rushed, not even the fact that's solderless makes me afraid of using it.

What's taking the Progskeet guys so long to release a NOR clip?

the e3 only does the chip,I think you will still need dongle to downgrade the firmware from ofw
