PS3 Filesystem use?

I have read somewhere that the ps3 is now exploitable with their filesystem.
I did research and found it is UFS2.

Now If I plug in my ps3 hdd with a sata cable, and get a program to read the UFS2 filesystem can I view the files? If not, and there is encryption, and direction into decrypting it?

all help is appreciated.

your PC or laptop can't even recognize the partitions on the drive...

Only way to read or write to internal drive is when it is connected to the PS3 and with the use of a FTP program, filemanager or with OthetrOS++, otherwise there is no way to decrypt it as far as I know...

well you can use
"ps3dm_sm set_del_def_encdec_key" to disable encryption.

then just view the partition on pc.

but how would you run that command into your hdd, or is it the ps3 in general?

You need Linux with Graf/Glevand kernel installed on your ps3 for this

But I think it is only for swapping HDD's to another PS3... Not sure, never experimented with this because it is a little dangerous.

Graf said to use that to disable encryption

(use any hdd in any ps3 without reformatting, view system files without decryption)

can you help me find a way to run terminal on ps3.

Im on a 3.72 so I can't test.
but I can run it on the HDD if that is where you even run it.

I'll need to install a linux distro...

if you are on 3.72 then i'm sorry but i highly doubt you can do it... You can't install Linux on your console, which is how i think the command should be ran...

Im going to try that.

I can get the ps3 HDD to show up with UFS Viewer, just need to disable the encryption.

the command should still work on 3.70+
