yeah it works for sure the problem is how you use that ^^ ps3 does not have terminal... Not as far as i know... Linux has terminal, but to install it you need CFW... Get what i mean? yet i am not good with software side of PS3 so i would suggest asking someone else, possibly a dev : )

can you.. *plug my ps3 hdd into pc via sata *run the cmd in terminal on linux (ex: -sh ps3dm_sm set_del_def_encdec_key A:\\) A obviously being my ps3 HDD *disable the ps3 encryption *open UFS2 filesystem with UFS Viewer ?? the ps3 should now be in a folder format. Like on a pc, or mac, and all the files editable. I'd ask a dev but they never reply

i don't think so, i believe that's a command that will only work if used on the console itself, because only the console has got the keys to decrypt the hdd... You can try it tho : ) just try typing the command on a linux distro, if it says you should view help then it has the command... If it just says it does not recognize that command then it needs to be ran on the console, but as you are on 3.72 you'd need to downgrade

1: put new patches on for my games (such as mw2/cod4) 2: Use my HDD in any ps3 without re-format is there another way to disable hdd encryption without cfw? or even a path to lead to it? |

there is no other way , only with a ps3 on cfw and if you want to put patches of games to a ofw ps3 , u also will need a cfw ps3 too . so u can do a data transver .

but here is my reasoning... You can view file system (UFS2) after the ps3 hdd is decrypted with grafs cmd, it will perminantly disable hdd encryption. therefore all files after that would be raw, and not encrypted. therefore when you plug your hdd into your pc via sata cable you can just view files normal as you would a flashdrive, or external hdd. the only problem I see with this is that you'd need the keys to actually run the cmd's on the ps3's HDD... |
