forgive me if i am being too stupid to ask thiis question.. i just wanna know if i go and rent the game from somewhere and copy it to my hdd and patch it. will i be able to play it??? or do i need the original disc in ps3 all the time?

you can make a back up and play,you dont need the disc,but you may need original disc from any other game in the drive,not sure though,but hey the ps3 was just cracked so we all have at least 20 original games at home.

There is no way to play BF3 online since this game does not have LAN mod.
