You can downgrade via hardware flasher, but since your friend is not 'tech savy' i wouldn't really recommend it. You would need the E3 flasher or Progskeet and solder some points depending on the PS3 (requires opening up your PS3). Check out the front page theres a tutorial on how to do that schutff

Yeah I really don't feel like helping my friend with that, ill let him do his own research on that. Thanks anyways.
I am aware of the hardware E3 flasher, but is are you saying soldering isn't possible anymore? That would suck. |

tell him to look up progskeet. seems to have way better reviews than the e3.

for some reason my ps3 failed to update to the CFW it gave me an error of (8002F1F0) an update loop so before i restarted it i put in the OFW 3.55 and i was able to get back to the old screen but no CFW installed... has anyone else come across this error i have the PS3 Slim line version it came with OFW 3.41 and is now updated to OFW 3.55

ok so... i re-downloaded and the same thing occurred it tells me to restart to see if it can continue through with the install so if it fails i will write back here
