Yeah I will agree with you on most of that except, some users in the PS3 scenes would complain about him testing for a week before a release. If one game is released and is not playable those same users will start to complain again. The down fall of the PS3 scene is gonna be the impatient trolls that dont care about what a person has done but what they will release today and tomorrow.

Just wish I has some of his knowledge, why do people want credit for such things hackers are suppose to be anonymous your screen name is your fame. No disrespect to anyone. I use what I got and what I can find I don't ask for much just a little knowledge. Like to take **** apart just to see how it works software and or firmware is the same. I believe this is a severe case of "Time DOES NOT cure everything" where, at every day,every hour, every minute, every single second that passes by, new people come here to insult the guy, not really knowing him or what he has done, and old people who are waiting for sh*t to fall in their greedy hands, cursing him for not doing so. Here's a little reminder for all of you who fit in these categories: He HAS released something. He has even given you hints on how to do what he has accomplished. He just got tired of so much stupid drama, which seems to appear everytime at this ... this doesn't even deserve to be named "scene", this should be called "dramatic theater", seeing that this and going to the theater to watch Hamlet is as good, if not better... Pathetic...

Yeah you are right. not sure if your on top of 360 architecture but because of Hitachi drives are different and less common in the lastest 360's people complain time and time again irc and on his website and well his forums too about releasing Hitachi FW as fast or faster than the benq, liteon, and samsung drives. Even though time and time again he states those takes time to impliment I can see on one side why they wish it was done (although I have liteon drive) it his time he gives up for the community to make it all possible without him the scene wouldnt be like it is today :D so what it comes down to is be patient and try to understand what the devs go thru and appreciate even the smallest news. For each step forward made is that much closer to the end product which is CFW for any OFW's!!!!

This thread is embarrassing. I had considered ps3hax to have the best community among the jailbreak/cfw oriented ps3 sites, but evidently it isn't by much. Looking back on the initial days when PSGroove was the de jure way of jailbreaking, there was a ton of support for the developers (mathieulh included) to keep the ball rolling. The biggest stints where people lashed out at those developers were the times when it was clear they didn't advocate piracy, and went as far as witholding information or tools that could otherwise move jailbreaking "forward."

Whenever this happened, it showed as plain as day how jaded and unrelenting the public is; if you don't let them have their cake and eat it too, you're worthless. How developers responded to this varied, but I can say with confidence that if you ask most of them what their thoughts are they'll mostly be in line with one another. Mathieulh responded openly and bluntly (and at times so did Kakaroto) and what you ended up with was this vicious cycle where the public became increasingly resentful, and the devs became more and more defensive, angry/hateful, and held back more and more (with excuses ranging from "it'll only lead to piracy" to "we don't want sony to sue us").

It's probably true that the devs look down on the public, but with the way the public tends to respond, is it really any surprise?

The funny thing is that this article is no different. It's actually one of the few times these days where you see a reasonable discussion from Mathieulh outside of private channels. He maintains his general thoughts and opinions. He makes it pretty clear that the "ungrateful public" is actually working against progress and goes as far as saying that the response essentially scares devs away. The majority of responses in this thread only prove his point.

What annoys me, are these idiots that say he done nothing etc, if they took their heads out of their rectums, they would see all the work he has done, then there are other idiots that hate him because he wont help them pirate their latest games.
