I would weigh out the options though before upgrading. So it really boils down to whether you feel you have done everything you are interested in regarding 3.55cfw, if getting back down to 3.55 is within your skills (if necessary) and how important playing online game play is for you.

The lad asked a question and I suppose he expected a sensible answer. You could have give a sensible answer but instead you chose to be a plum he is on 3.61 fw anyway so he is leaving nothing behind .

My answer to the thread starter would be just update mate as you need a flasher to go back to 3.55 anyway no matter what firmware you are on above 3.55 you might aswell play some new games till a fix comes out.

I agree with you. I wasn't asking for a factual answer per-se, just an opinion on what would you guys do if you were on my shoes.

Everyone that posted answered that question normally; I just wanted to get the general opinion on this and make my decision based on them. I've just learned to ignore posts like that thanks to other forums, especially NGU (nextgenupdate) and Facepunch, when I first got Garry's Mod.


I am aware that, currently, the only way for me to get CFW with my PS3 is to get E3 or Progskeet. I don't want to risk my PS3 by soldering, so Progskeet isn't an option until its solderless version comes out. I've heard cheesy things about E3 flasher, so I'm not risking it either.

I got 3.55 CFW when it first came out but, for some illogical reason, decided I wouldn't need it because (again, I look upon this and view it as such a stupid thought) I thought no backup utility would come out.
