Tested LA Noire on BD ( udf ) . Blackscreens and kick back to XMB.

Remember that dvd burned with game files ripped with multiman can still be used as archive: you can still copy all data back to pc and then ftp'em back on your ps3. It still saves time of work for your PS3's BD reader's lens.

Ok so the other day I burned guitar hero smash hits. Installed, loaded up fine, played one to test and turned it off. Next time I tried to load it, it blackscreened. I shut off ps3 then started over, blackscreen again, but this time I ejected the disc and put it back in and voila game loads.

It's because installation coordinates do not match/are missleading. Inside the game data installation pkg files the game has a file that lists all the files needed to be installed and from which folder paths need to get copied and pasted on. If the installation has a file that it's path starts with ''dev_hd000'' while trying to use the patched game the patch will redirect those paths to an inaccessible/inexisting path or a read only folder, so the installation will fail.

Also forgot to tell that you CANNOT rip anything from that game.
The game has a file that checks if all files exist and it's sizes match.

which error do you have in far cry 2? The game works fine in my ps3

Ok, I finally bought a BD recorder and my ps3 reads rewritable media so now I can do some extensive testing.

All games on BD-RE except DEADSPACE 2, initially gave black screen until I ejected and reinserted the game. I´m not sur if that´s because of the writer or media. I´m using an LG BH10 and memorex BD-RE. both not my first choice but thats what was available. I´m using NERO as my burning software.


WORKING with MultiMAN direct booting disc but NOT WORKING with PKG app.

Both these games give the Data corrupt error when trying to boot after installing the package. works fine through multiman though.
I´ll be testing alot more games as times available. I also have a list of non working games but don´t want to post them yet until I double check them.

Um, no it didn´t the 1st time I installed. I played for a bit and even had a game save.
Today, i read your message and reburned the game. put it in the ps3 and started with the Disc icon to check. game booted up. So I exited and deleted the 657 MB that prototype installs in GAMEDATA.
Now here is where things start acting strange. I restarted the game with the disc icon and now I get the error that there is not enough space on the hdd?

So then i tried to direct boot the game with Multiman and I keep getting the black screen and my ps3 freezes. Tried a couple of more times with the disc icon and keep getting the "no free space error".
I also checked the PARAM.SFO to see if it was at 9.0 but it hadn´t been changed and was still 2.60.
I checked in the GAMEDATA and notice that it installed 33kb of info every time it gives the error. I deleted that, deleted the disc icon pkg and tried again with multiman. this time it boots up and installs the data.
So I exited, deleted the GAMEDATA, reinstalled the disc.pkg and booted the game with the disc icon. The game boots up and installs without error. WTF???
I deleted the GAMEDATA and tried it 2 more times without getting any errors on install.

After spending almost an hour on this, all I can say is you might have to try a few times either with the disc.pkg or multiman before it will install. don´t forget to keep deleting the GAMEDATA.
Oh ya, I even deleted my game save. I don´t think that made a difference but I thought I´d point it out.
Keep trying. Once the game data is installed theres no problem
