Just take it as a life experience that not many people get to do, weigh up the facts and don't be a sheep ,you have your own mind. And don't just talk about playstations or they put you in jail

But it turns out the man was innocent the girl made it up, so people are relying on you for the truth

It's really not that bad. All you do is go to court and check in. Once you check in, they seat you in a waiting area. After your group number gets called, you'll go to the assigned court room. From there, the judge's assistant(I forgot the official name) will call on random people from your group(you could be one of them) and the lawyers will start disclosing few information about the case. Then asking you question like "are you married?, what do you do for living?, etc..." Just to get to know you a bit. Then they'll ask you "can you be impartial to both side and not be bias? and why?"... From there they'll decide if they'll keep you as a juror for the case or dismiss.... If you don't want to serve, pray that they pick the final jurors before you get picked. Or come up with a story that's a bit relevant in a way to the case and you can't be fair at all and you will be dismissed.

That's not true in regards of "no register to vote = no jury duty". I registered to voted last year but I've been called for jury duty twice before I registered.

I was called for Jury Duty, but was never selected. I remember it being for a murder trial though.

There could be a lot to learn out of it too.

I never want anything to do with court, just walking into a bank makes me nervous as hell (not saying banks are/arent related to courts). If I ever get picked im running away and out of this country.

LoL...it isn't the draft!

I've been registered to vote since I was 18, still haven't been called for jury duty. It seems that only people registered as democrats or republicans get called for jury duty in florida; they don't want free thinkers.

I wish our Dutch law system was more controlled by the normal people looking at all the judicial fails made here the last few years.

Public prosecutors and even (respected?) lawyers play judge here sometimes also because we have a lack of judges sometimes. A very bad situation I think because they aren't neutral imho. I once was in court and the judge debated with the prosecutor what he had to think about my story during the lawsuit. Yeah, that gives me the feeling I have a honest lawsuit.... It was a very small lawsuit and I didn't make use of a lawyer btw. Maybe that had something to do with it also.

Our government says we have an independent law system, I say they lie

So feel lucky with the possibility you and others have control over your law system... I think it is less corrupt as we have

Guys! I have jury duty in the morning! Tomorrow! Noo!.. :[

I fear I will be confused the whole time I don't want to be bored or anything. A lot of people on YouTube say it's boring. I've been watching other people's experiences.
