It's possible to have a high IQ and have other traits that aren't very likable, so based on IQ alone I'll vote no.

Basically, I'd rather befriend the humble open-minded idiot than the petty biased genius.

What the **** is the internet coming to? Infractions for asking a dumb/repeated question? Not being allowed to register/post/etc. if you don't have a sufficient score on an IQ test? I don't mean to be a dick, but to all those who are even somewhat supporting this type of nonsense are just as big of an "idiot" as the new guy who joins the forum asking where to get a 3.73 CFW with PSN access that will also bring him his morning coffee.

We were all new with something once, and I'm sure most of us have asked stupid, idiotic questions on forums in the past. Nobody should expect people to jump into the scene knowing anything other than the fact that there is a "PS3 Scene" to get into. We should all be happy that the scene is rapidly growing and evolving.

Bottom line is, those who are tired of answering noobish questions over and over, don't reply to them. These types of questions are part of what a collective group with similar interests (forum community) exist for. Maybe there should be a test asking questions such as:

Does your vag hurt when you are NOT FORCED to reply to repeatedly asked common questions on a daily basis?

Do you have a superiority complex?

etc. etc.

Personally, I signed up here after being banned from that other site. I lasted maybe a couple months posting somewhat frequently before realizing that there are a lot of people on here that feel like they are some elitist compared to many others on here, and bashing on newly registered members for not knowing everything going on in the scene, and asking some question that to their knowledge seemed plausible. A lot of people need to grow the **** up, instead of stagnating this site, and the scene with negativity.

Thank you @Gee K

You just proved my earlier request to have this closed as a sense of ****ing humour seems to have dissapeared up your own arse.

Looks like someone took something I previously stated a little personally, @Wolfie708 .

It was obviously meant to be humorous, but this was not the first time this "humorous" topic has sprouted up on ps3hax, and I am sure it wont be the last.... humorous or not As a daily visitor to the site though, I get tired of reading about people *****ing about "noobs asking dumb questions" like they are forced to read/reply to the threads in the first place, and then regulars turn around and bash the person for asking the question. **** like that don't help the scene or the ps3hax community.

Well as I started the thread of course it was taken as aimed at me lol.

You have hit the nail on the head though, I started it as fun at Both sides. The idiots who post things that a simple look at even the site banner would tell them, and the ones who get all offensive at the ones who post silly questions.

As I said it was meant as an attempt at fun (failed lol)

I understand this thread was meant for fun, but I posted what I thought about the actual topic itself.

It's not really anything personal, so I hope you didn't perceive it as that. I've just personally seen a lot of people succeed in tech related aspects of things that when they first started, asked some of the DUMBEST questions.

This thread was an obvious joke, I'd hope that Pirate wouldn't even consider the idea of an IQ test (or the equivalent) just to be able to post on the forums. I'm sure he could say "bye bye" to his traffic the second he did that, and I'm sure he knows it

My rant was basically aimed towards those who embraced this humorous idea, like it may have seen the light of day. After all, I am sure there are plenty of competing sites with competent enough members to answer simple ps3 questions that the ones who fail to pass some registration "test" to be able to post can run off to.

People who enjoy being a part of the ps3 scene should suck it up, be mature towards people of lesser knowledge on the subject, and not ***** about people who fail to read a banner, or don't know the answer to simple questions like "can you access PSN on CFW?". The time and effort it takes those people to say negative remarks towards the "noob" asking the question could have easily been spent by simply answering their question; it sure would make the scene/ps3hax a more respectful community. You never know when today's noob is tomorrow's CFW creator, homebrew developer, etc...

There is also a huge difference in spoon feeding and spoon feeding and wiping them afterwards too.
