This reminds me of an old thread at psx-scene which noone ever thought about:

wallflow: I got singstar ps2 songs without original PS3 singstar game, i used a backup well, i've done this: Need: - A backup Singstar PS3 game with PS2 singstar support (i used SingStar POP 2009) - Original PS2 game (any) - like you - Psgroove PL3 (pic version) - Open Manager v.2.1D with a few change. I do: - Add lines on OM (main.c) for map "/dev_ps2disc" to "/dev_hdd0/game/ps2game" (i used syscall35 as say kakaroto to map) ---- You replaced a word on some lines, i only add one line for mapping, bdvd still without any change. --- - Copy PS2 singstar backup to "/dev_hdd0/game/ps2game" - Started OM, select PS3 singstar pop 2009 backup and run. - Switch disck with "select" and put any PS2 original disc. - Now game load backup from "/dev_hdd0/game/ps2game" I mean? Next week i will look and try load a custom PS2 singstar, now we can load backups from comercial PS2 singstar games. I think i know that should change to work. I don't have more free time to do it.

so if someone recompile ot for 3.55 and write a pkg, would it finally be possible to play all Singstars? ps3's, because of the edit of this thread and the ps2's because of the edit's of the other thread?)

OK To Clear Things Up.... Yes And Yes (PS2) Data Is The Same... Just Encrypted For The Ps3... That Is why ALL PS2 Singstar Work On Your Ps3.

You Can Fuse 2 Singstar Games.

PS2 Singstars don't just work on (non-bc) PS3s. PS3 Singstars past a certain update release have the ability to import songs from PS2 discs because the Singstar devs updated Singstar PS3 to be backwards compatible with the PS2 Singstar song data. If you use an early Singstar PS3 without update you will no longer have the ability to use PS2 Singstar on PS3.

Hey guys I don't know whats going on. But I need a little help. I am having problems installing the update pkgs file fix for this game. Every time I try to install it it get to 6 percent and it fails with a corrupted data message. I do not know what is wrong. I never had this problem before with anything except this. Iam on a US ps3 with singstar on the external hard drive. If any one can point me in the right direction it would be appreciated.

I wish someone could figure out how to play songs which have DRM protection.

I downloaded some and since downgrading can't play them as my account details got messed up. There must be an app out there somewhere which can remove the DRM or allow the songs to be authorised without having to download them again.....

As far as I'm aware the DRM differs from that of PSN Store purchases, Singstar DLC comes from the Singstore. I believe it's activated in a completely different manner but what that process is I'm unsure.
All I know is that when I had a broken PS3 Sony was unable to allow me to re-download the content to the new PS3, I had to call customer services and have all the money I'd spent on DLC refunded so I could re-purchase the DLC.
