I had alot of the same issues that you guys are saying ,but i actually got mine to work with the back-up and restore setup , but what dongle do i need to down grade ? that is were i am confused no one sais anything about a dongle? any help much appreciated...thanks in advance.

phew took me 10 hours but now i have it..

PS3 FAT CECHK04 with SPANSION Chip

My problem was:
Getting error 10001100 when backupping
Clip was secured with folded paper and hardtape.

For everyone who has the same problem:
I've put the clip very hard on the chip but everytime i put everything together it got loosen again though i pressed thick paper on it.
Now i opened everything again, removed the paper and put hard styrofoam on it (more than a finger thick!!)
At first i thought the board might break during the reasamble. It was bend a little bit (like 2 cm!). But i had no more motivation for this piece of *** so i screwed everything together no matter what would happen.

After that i followed the instruction from the E3 Team.

1: PS3 off, Sata station off, put the update.bin (i used 2011/11/22) on the sd and put it in the console.
2: put the switches on 00111111 and start the sata station and then the ps3.
3: All leds glow now. Press the RESET (beneath the sata cable) The blue leds should go off.
4: Dont turn the ps3 off!!, put the switches now to 00100000.
5: Press Start and look at the blue leds. After 20 seconds the first should light up and then more. They slided through this i think 3 or 4 times.
6: When its finished the leds jump in the usual way from left to right.

After the RESET Part i pressed several times start but nothing happend. I think i pressed reset again so the leds lit the usual way and then the start button worked.

This worked with my CECHK04 SPANSION PS3! I've never found a post where somebody with this console said it worked!
It would be nice to make this Sticky or something so more people could solve this problem!
