LoL...he really did kinda bring it on himself by replying to the news of the release like he did.

I’d like to say screw leakers, screw the scene, and this is my last contribution to it EVER. It seems I can’t even trust fellow developers to keep my work safe and not leaking it. (Not like any of them would have been able to tell you how all this even works in the first place)

True, but talk about him doesn't need to spam up a front page article and make it look crap.

It was a good thing, as now the scene is progressing in the proper way and not by the means of breaking NPDMR and give free games to everyone (piracy, the thing that made the PS2 the best selling console of all times).

If it hadn't got leaked, then where the scene is supposed to be?, stucked?, dead?. This is progress, and progress is always a good thing (at least in matters like hacking consoles, not talking about in the scale of a country).

No body attributed this hack to itself. Math is a great developer indeed, but what was put in question is his attitude towards fellow developers and wannabes.

Most of the members of this site know Math's work, and apreciate them all because of all the advantages that were delivered with. It's not right to be a part of a club, community, whatever, bring something new and spectacular but not releasing it to anybody. Not even fellow devs.

There actually is justification for his holier than though **** on your face attitude, but people would rather blame it on him than really try and understand why ("arrogant!", "selfish!", "hoarder!"). The truly ridiculous thing is no matter what this exploit leads to, people will still express hatred to him for very silly reasons.
That is just plain selfishness. If you don't want to share, the don't share. No need to talk about what you have in your pockets.

I agree with you in the way Math tries to fan the flames.

Who are the ungratefull users?, since most exploits and cracks are only useful to someone who can code. I was always sitting, reading and trying to learn what all this peoplea were talking about, never asking them to release a magic almigthy CFW that fries some chicken and made the PS3 go out for a walk with my dog. The things have their time of development, and I'm willing to wait for them without questioning nor flaming. Releases are always a good thing.

Especially when that very knowledge comes from developers who release to a userbase that essentially spits in their face 90% of the time.
Fine with this, but don't forget this. When team fail0verfl0w revealed the way they break the PS3, then the scene "gave it's big jump". What if they didn't release the tools and methods?. I know (as most of us do) that I don't have the skills to perform such achievement, so I wait never asking for things and giving ultimatums. Remember this, who are more important, fellow devs and truly scene members or pirates? (by "pirates" I mean kids that have a computer in front of them and only want to play games for free).

Totaly agree.

what about the UC3 eboot? the same principle applies here too

so when mathieulhs stuff got leaked, who should get the thanks? the person who gave it or the person who was never going to?

this is in no way me bashing him and obviously big respect for all the work he put in but he didnt do this for the scene and he didnt do this for us. its all this "behind closed doors" BS that drives this scenes drama
I give credit where credit is due. Math wrote a nice tutorial on how to use this exploit. That's it, very nice, thank you, good night. But I'm not going to sit on my knees because his stuff got leaked.

attention

Post moved to drama section

Am I... Am I looking in the wrong thread? I went to take a look because I wanted to see the other side of the opinions but its hate.

The title does say "The Lets Talk About Our Love For Math Thread" right? Or is that pure sarcasm?

I have mixed feelings about this, yeah maybe mad if he wanted to keep it for himself, but I'd understand he would be pissed if his trust was betrayed and hard work revealed without knowing.

Yes it is sarcasm, because the majority of peoples post share in this thread hate Math.

I respect Math quite a bit, i also love this forum and im pi*sed off with people constantly derailing front page articles, because they hate Math, so this thread is all the junk from the metldr front page article.

I think Mathieulh is a pretty cool guy. Eh hordes ps3 exploits and doesn't afraid of anything.
