I cant confirm if dongles can put 3.7x+ fw's on service mode, because noone on earth face been so stupid to do this, since u will be stuck on service mode forever whitout a previous dump of your console in normal state.Dont take this as offence bro i was ironic :P

I can confirm that dongles can put 3.56 on service mode, but same problem, whitout a previous dump, u will be stuck there forever.
There are no way to soft-exit the service mode on 3.56+, the lvldiag.self files on the net are for 3.55.
Consider the downgrade process ( progskeet/teensy or e3 doesnt matter) ask your ot flash the downgrade.bin before enter service mode, infact he count as you are on 3.55 already.
So i didnt understood your ps3 is on service mode now? on what firmware?

I got brick, I soldered like in tutorial and doesn't work. I turn on my PS3 but my flasher doesn't light, like no power, but ps3 is working for about minute or two mins and then crash.

i have a slim ps3 with the rsod so i couldn't make a backup.. i started at step 3.. downgrade.bin successful.. but step 4, the dongle, doesn't work.. so i started over.. and put a dump from a FAT on my SD to begin at the restore step.. e3 flasher did his work but now i have a black screen..

isn't there a default bkpps3.bin so i can restore my chip..?

E3 flasher now gives the error not supported..
version CECH-2004A

Of corse you can't re-flash a BIOS backup from another PS3 dude, BIOS is unique.
But i got the same problem as you do.

I got my original BIOS backup, soldered the E3 flasher as mentoined in the manual, successfully restored my BIOS but still got black screen.

so doesn't semm to work. btw i got the same Model as you do.

If you do not have a backup of your original BIOS you're pretty much fukked up.. dunno if it's possible to get a BIOS Backup from another PS3 with the same model nr. and edit it so it fits.

if its unique.. there should be an unique code in the backup file.. and there is no way to get that back.. so even if i could edit it.. edit in what?!?

but if the hack is true about the metldr exploit.. is this an option for me.. the error in the e3 flasher log is.. metldr not supported..

Edit:
@dszuecs
Can you please upload your backup..? if you have the same type, i really would give that a try!

Your original bios was on 3.73 or 3.55?
I ask because maybe you upgraded and then downgraded to 3.55 and maybe i can help you.
Anyway your is more like a semi-brick than a completely brick, post e3 logfile inside the tf card plz
