I'm sorry ps3hax condensed the link I gave you it should appear like this " http://gitbrew. org/~glevand/ps3/scripts/create_hdd_region.sh " NOT this http://gitbrew.org/~glevand/ps3/scri..._hdd_region.sh
so do this again

1. cd /tmp
2. wget http://gitbrew. org/~glevand/ps3/scripts/create_hdd_region.sh
3. chmod a+x create_hdd_region.sh
4. ./create_hdd_region.sh

It should work if your internet is ok I just tested the link so it is fine.
By the way the squiggle line is located on the key directly left of the number 1 on the keyboard but you have to press shift and then press it.

He's saying he already has create_hdd_region.sh on his external drive. I'm not sure if that makes a difference but wookie you should try saving create_hdd_region.sh to a usb stick instead of your external hdd and then follow carl's suggestion if you have problems downloading the file from the shell.

So...

1. Put create_hdd_region.sh on a usb stick
2. cd /tmp/petitboot/mnt/sda1
3. chmod a+x create_hdd_region.sh
4. sh create_hdd_region.sh

P.S. if you download the file from www.tinyurl.com/createhdd it saves as createhdd not create_hdd_region.sh so you would have to chmod 755 createhdd otherwise it will not work because create_hdd_region.sh does not exist.

So what was the path to your external? I tried myself to cd into the usb directory to see if I could help without any luck I'm sure your info can help others who have had the same problem. I'm still wondering why you failed to download the script. It would have been so much easier. Good luck on getting red ribbon installed.

it kept timing out in petitboot, tried all the different addresses and got the same result, didnt bother trying your comment 4 hours ago as id already got it installed. I cant remember the file path now, it was so complicated as im new to all this. Il speak to the guy on irc from portugal later, im sure he will remember. Its just gettin it to format the partition thats a pain now through Red Ribbon ( RR folders on external partition extracted from iso), it failed . Also before i done a full format off int ps3HD the other night, i did a data transfer. Can i put this back on now?, its 4gb worth. And can i put Rebug OtherOS 3.55.2 on top off gitbrews 3.55 (++ 22gb) pup now,for the trophy error and put latest rebug patch ?

One more thing i had 2 user names on ps3, then used data transfer utility and used MM and filezilla to back my game saves up 00001, 00010 each one for each user on ps3. Now i have only one new created user, how do i get these files back on ps3?

regards

You said after you installed gitbrews firmware you lost the ability to fetch files from the internet. What was the last firmware that allowed you to do this? Fix your ability to use the wget command and everything should be really easy. Then you won't have to use your external. That makes it more complicated than it has to be for a new user.
