There are other reasons, one being so you can backup and play your bought games from HDD, another so you can play homebrew games.

for homebrew and backing up YOUR OWN original copies onto your HDD.

CFW wasnt created for piracy, that's what the end user decided to do with it.

It is about freedom, the freedom to do with your computer (the PS3 in this case) whatever you want. If you have $ony's original firmware you are a kind of slave to $ony and only allowed to do with the PS3 what they want (did you read the ToS before starting the PS3 to the XMB for the first time?)
and they only want more, more and more of your money and freedom. They don't allow you to run royalty free (aka open source) software because they make no money out of it. Disgusting behavior leading to big problems worldwide...

Altough I do like your approach to this subject, I still believe that most of the users here jailbreaked their's PS3 to be able to download piracy games and save money

That´s not my case, but here in my country, consoles and games are very veeeeeery veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy expensives, due to a lot of taxes that we pay for them. So, many users feel discouraged to buy original ones, so piracy is very common. For many of then, it´s the only option to have a game.

i believe this too.. but this is not the place to be open about it. if you want to be open about piracy , use ( anouther site i will not mention lol) . bottom line this site isnt about the piracy , there are other sites ment for that
