Hello guys i need some help. im trying to downgrade from 3.72 to 3.55 so i can jailbreak my ps3 but im a little stuck. im following this guide but im still a little lost.---------- http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?t=26677 it says to download the firmware and to put it on the formatted usb and created all the folders.but when i go into the recovery menu i doesnt let me install the update it says error. i also tried installing it from the system menu option in the settings....

You can't downgrade from 3.72 to 3.55 with only software. You need extra hardware to downgrade.

The guide is about changing original 3.55 firmware to Custom 3.55 firmware?

You can properly downgrade it to 3.55 with a number of hardware modifications.
(E3 Flasher, ProgSkeet, or Teensy 2.0++)

Thanks man but I can't do all that taking apart the ps3 thanks though. Is there anyway to make game back ups with out root?

I'm having trouble deciphering your question. Are you asking if it's possible to make game backups without custom firmware? Sony does not allow it, so in that retrospect, no. You cannot create backups without custom firmware.

Haha that's what I meant that was a reason why I wanted to jailbreak my ps3.is it possibly to make copy of games with a DVD burner?. Thanks for the help man

No.

The only way to play copied PlayStation 3 games is to have a custom firmware installed. Burned DVD's or Blu-Ray discs will not work.

If you want to play copied games that badly, you will need to downgrade your system using hardware modifications such as E3 Flasher, etc..

Dam man I would do it but I'm scared hopefully a dev out there is working on it so I can downgrade.....
