After the latest Math debacle today, I'd like to suggest the following.

IF THERE ISN'T ANY CODE TO PROVE SOMETHING, IT ISN'T MAKING THE NEWS PAGE.

That way "talented" devs, who "wish to contribute" to the scene and "share" their "knowledge" in hopes of "bettering" the PS3 Dev scene, can receive the acclaim they deserve.

And anyone else who says they can do something and does not provide code, don't even get a mention.

If anything it'd make the forums an easier place to moderate, and it'd stop everyone getting false hopes up week after week.

hum... providing code... would mean to release it... which would mean that anyone would grab it and claim it as their own... it won't work that way...

I'm not complaining, I'm just saying both ps3hax and ps3scene have the same stories and exactly the same debate going in both forums.

Thus.........."is it really news??????"

I agree. No proof = didn't really happen. You guys might as well start front paging all the youtube videos that claim to have cfw

No i didn't hit the nail... what you lack to understand is that source code should be released when people want to release it, and if people don't want to it doesn't make it fake... it makes it proprietary... also yeah i am just going to release my source code so everyone can take the credit for what i did... that makes sense...

It should not be a popularity contest. I honestly could care less who claims anything, just as long as I can benefit from it lol.

The first person to release it would be the person to get credit...that is how it always works.

At least the youtube videos are difficult to make, unlike today's post that I replicated in under a minute using batch...the upload of the photo took longer.

If you don't release source code that makes it proprietary...if you don't release binaries either then it is private. If you release nothing but a photo that can be faked easily, then you haven't made a release.

I don't know if we need to require source code or binaries or even results...but proof of some kind is important.

Ummmm this is a news site which reports the news. If you need more proof or don't believe the news go fact check for yourself. I mean these people are not hard to find. Math has regular twitter conversations with other devs that ask legitimate questions. Other devs use twitter as a form of communication Better yet go lurk in the irc channels, gitbrew otheros,ps3dev, ect,ect,ect rooms are full of devs and people trying to learn
