Then You turn off console and get in into service mode. (Does it turns off when You press power/eject or You turn it off manually?) When console in factory/service mode - You put USB flash drive with PS3UPDATE.PUP (with check-off patch) and Lv2Diag-patch-par-Jaicrab in root folder to right usb-port and turn console on. (Does it turns off when update finished? Or green led blinks forever and You turns console off manually?) After "check-off" 3.55 firmware installed and You turns console on again - do You see XMB with red field in bottom right corner (factory/service mode) When do You see RSOD? |

I've found the way to dump/erase/write Samsung QB memory's without problems. Tested on FAT and SLIM consoles with this kind of memories. Zero problem since then(a week ago).
I may do a tutorial when i have some time... |

Hardware modifications to remove Samsung's QB memory problems whith Teensy++:
We will "steal" 3.3V from the PS3, so the entire wiring is the same as usual except for supply and regulator part: To prepare the supply part, do exactly the same as the guide to convert to 3.3V, except that DO NOT PUT THE REGULATOR. If you already have the 3.3V modification, just remove the regulator.Guide to 3.3v conversion: http://www.pjrc.com/teensy/3volt.html Additionaly, a wire must be soldered to get 3.3V for Teensy++ from PS3. Please refeer to the following picture to see instructions: ![]() ALL 5V PINS OR PADS IN Teensy++ MUST REMAIN UNCONNECTED. NOW, Read slowly: Process actions to remove Samsung's QB memory problems whith Teensy++: 1)We will identificate the memory, if the memory is a Samsung QB we will use a method and if not we will use a different one. Identifying the memory model: Initial conditions: * PS3 turned OFF; * USB cable(Teensy++ <--> PC) unplugged; Turn on PS3 and wait 20 seconds. Ensure that PS3 do not turn off. If it turns off, turn it on again until it stays working properly. Now, plug USB cable(Teensy++ <--> PC) and dump as usual. Read memory model and see if its a Samsung QB, and: 2)a) if memory ISNT a Samsung QB model, just continue dumping/erasing/writing as usual. The important part is that PS3 must be always turned ON during the hole process. You're done. b)if memory IS a Samsung QB model, press and hold PS3 power button until it turns OFF. Unplug PS3 power cord. DO NOT REMOVE USB CABLE. If you removed it you will loose Teensy++ supply(and USB connection) so go to 1) and try again. The important part is that even with PS3 turned OFF Teensy++ will still get power, same as NOR memory. WARNING: dumped file in 1) was only to identify the memory, discard it because it cant be trusted. Now, just continue dumping/erasing/writing as usual. The important part is that PS3 must be always turned OFF during the hole process. You're done. Last edited by CrackMyDay; 11-16-2011 at 01:01 PM. |

What version of NORWAY are you using?
I thought NORWAY only works with teensy++ 2.0. |

It does. Its the same procedure for both Teensy and Teensy++ if youre refeering to the regulator modification.
