Can PC read a PS3 HDD?
I am wondering what am i supposed to see if i connected a working PS3 to a PC? Would i be able to see it as a storage with files or does PS3 have it's own format? Is there a way to read that format on windows based systems?
And a side question, i heard people brick their consoles by using a HDD which runs on different version. Is that true, and any way to avoid that? Thnx in advance

Search is your friend. Ps3 hdd uses a proprietary file system, and is encrypted.

Don't forget that it utilises a linux file-system so u'll need some different software to be able to read the decrypted HD.

No reading the question, he is asking if the format on the ps3 hdd can be read on a PC....unless he stated it unintentionally wrong. The Bases of a filesystem is not "linux based" of even "ps3 based" so the ps3 hdd can be any filesystem as it is proprietary. Last I remembered graf was only able to disable encryption and not decrypt or bypass it. I don't know/remember if the PS3 used a hdd encryption or a filesystem level encryption, If I had to guess then Id say the disk is encrypted.
