He is trying to get an external HDD and last I heard - externally the ps3 supports up to 2TB with the fat32 filesystem. Maybe wrong, I would check since I have a 2tb external but my ps3 is busted

i have a 2tb on mine works just fine i belive fat32 can go to 3tb

Thanks guys for your input. I think i moght go get the 2TB seagate goflex as you are able to buy an adaptor which enables USB 3.0.

Atm i don't have USB 3.0 on my PC but what about the PS3?

The ps3 last I checked was limited to USB 2.0 (might be wrong), that's 480 Mb/s or converted 60MB/s of course you won't be getting full speed all the time or in may case I never achieved 60MB/s.

i got a 1tb externall made by iomega cost me £50
not had one problem with it.

hmm... ok. Well thats about $100AUD and I can't seem to find any 'cheap' iomega's anywhere!
