This tut will show you how to connect to LAN games without having psn.

First of all. your network setup. this tut will work for people who have there ps3 and computer running from the same router whether it be wired or wireless.


Step 1 : Download Xlink Kai from there official site under the tab downloads on top of the web page

Step 2 : Stay on the Xlink Kai webpage and register an account with them

Step 3 : Install Xlink Kai

Step 4 : If using Windows 7 please right click on the start kia icon click run as administraitor and go to compatability mode click windows xp SP3.

Step 5 : Start kai

Step 6 : Find the small Kai icon in the bottom right corner of your screen.
Right click and go to Configure Kai

Step 7 : This will open in a internet window



Scroll to the bottom. and find network settings. put Port at 30000, deep port at 0 , web ui port at 34522 As shown in picture


Step 8 : Port forwarding..This is where alot of people go wrong ... so i've included a program called simple port forwarding... and a simple tut

SIMPLE PORT FARWARDING

Step 9 : Install program . Once you have installed and have it open
Go to where is says Router info/Router: (CLICK show pic ) find
your router out of the list. ( to make this easier you can go to
your router and look on the bottom or back and find the model
number) Example i have a D-link wbr-1310 so i would pick that
one. if your router has a user and and password put them in
correct places.

Step 10 : Go to File add ports , Add custom
now under name put PS3 or anything you want really.
type: TCP/UDP
Start port : 30000
End port : 34522
I.P adress . ( defalt)
Click the small Add to finish

Step 11 : It should now have the port you just created listed
Go to the bottom of the program and click Update router.
It will then open up a small browser like page and your routers
login page shoud come on. if the program doesnt log you in, Just
in your user and password quick and it should continue
Watch the program and make sure it sets the right ports on it


Step 12 : Now You should be done port forwarding.
Now Turn on your ps3. Go to network settings
and configure it all to defalt ( wired or wireless)
restart ps3

Step 13: Make sure you have kai engine running with UI open

Open up the Kai UI and look on the Top left corner ,you wil see
a little magnifying glass click it. now look underneath the
glass, and find the little program folder and click that
It should say No consoles detected, this is ok


Step 14: Go to ps3 and boot up Good old Black ops..
Go to zombies or local multiplayer( witchevers faster for you )
Lan game , and search for a game now Under that list where it said
no consoles detected on kai UI it should now say PS2/PS3
Configured successfully

Step 15: Click on the little Globe next to the magnifying glass
Click the green arrow on ps3
then click green arrow on FPS
Then green arrow on black ops
then Green arrow on europe
Then green arrow on france ( this usually has alot of players )

Step 16: search for a game on your ps3 once again . and you should
see a few games show up pick one



CONGRATS You did it ..

FAQ :

No games show up on black ops why ? you should be using patch 1.09 and the US version ( blus30591 )

I am having trouble with Simple port forwarding what are some common problems?
Some routers in the list have duplicates and have diferent firmwares, try each one.
Ps3 and computer are not connected on the same router
Admin should be defalt user and no pass word on most routers. some people have there own user and pass word.

Can i play other games than plack ops?
yes but you will need friends and arrange everything yourself ( make room ,get people to join ect)

Do i have to use the simple port forwarding program ?
No , if you know how to port farward munaully please do .

I heard there is more users on XBS?
lol Not really. theres only 2 rooms on it so far and there both Uncharted 3 rooms. and i hate xbs

I know alot of people on this site has a secend ps3 with OFW but the more people on ps3hax that we can get kai working the better i want to create a private room for ps3 hax members only and possibly hold tournements )

This works wired connection ass well, i thought that kai link was a wireless connection only.

Looks like a much better user friendly interface, compared to the other releases .
Nice thanks ,i been waiting for a improved / tut / better xlink kia -> version/simple user friendly.Less buggy.
