i guess he wants the same as me and that to remove the option to update from under setttings , ive tried every think that i know but i think there is a hidden back up of the xml somewhere which only kicks in when there normal xml not working because i removed every think from the xml and it still all there , ive done loads to my xmb eg music , video and photos in 1 catagory called media and other stuff to like i got hombrew catgory with 5 section in the that catgory with homebrew games in 1 section , linux stuff in another , psn games in another , hombrew apps in another section and mutiamn/showtimein another plus many more stuff but this setting catgory is buggin me now

I want to remove "update from internet option". I couldn't do that but i did it to do nothing when i choose it. yeah. i'll post my result here soon.

I know you can remove the netflix icon using that guide but the psstore I haven't tried so I can't verify, but should work I think.

Wow nice and clean, I like it. Unfortunately while grabbing the files I needed from my ps3 it powered off and messed up again (blinking red light) lol. I think that's a sign of overheating as I can wait awhile and I can power it up again. Will probably have to help him on your own man, my bad... Yeah the items in the settings category was the one that didn't work when I was testing, that why I left that out of my tutorial. I believe you are correct in that there is something else that is associated with the settings category. For the XML editing the only thing I tested it on was the Video, games, network categories. While I was messing around I noticed that I wasn't able to remove some items using that method. I really wish I could help but unfortunately I am without a PS3. I don't know much about editing the sprx files but my friends PS3 is at my place, I will ask him if I can use his lol...
