Hey all..just got my e3 flasher this week but I'm torn whether I should use it or sell it on. I'm tempted but with lots of ppl having problems with it and all I'm not sure. I wanted it to just downgrade 1 of 2 consoles stuck on 3.56 with the corrupted data error. But then I'm stuck with e3's cfw at least that's what it seems. So the 2 consoles I have are the 120gb slim(not sure what the mod num is off the top of my head) and I think the other is a cechk01 phat. Now for sure the slim's warranty seal is still on it so I could actually have sony fix it if I wanted, but then again I don't know if the bluray drive works on it either, guess it could be because the update isn't complete, Idk. What does e1 think?

Also has anyone tried a different fw, ofw or cfw after downgrading with the e3 flasher? If so what were the results...brick or otherwise? Thanks.

It's up to you if you sell it or keep it.

Speaking of my own experience, it took me lots of rebuilding to actually connect it to work, when managed to do so i found out i need a microSD card (a MUST) to downgrade. Maybe there's some other way but noone (not ever E3 team) released a guide to do so without the card. I bough a micro SD card finally backed up the BIOS used their "ONE BUTTON DOWNGRADE" file to find out you can't really do it without a jailbreak dongle. That sound very negative but...

On the other hand, if i succeed, i can finally play ps2/psp/PS3 backups which sounds worth the trouble to me.

Hey, you know I totally agree, It would of been nice to know that you need an SD card to attach to the TF board for the downgrading and backup process along with a jb dongle. Thank God I bought a dongle a while back otherwise I wouldn't able to use this E3 Flasher. But I downgraded from 3.73 to 3.55 and so far so good. The FW they have set up on E3 website is a 3.55CFW (Spoof for 3.70.) if anyone have issues I'm willing to help yall downgrade

Hello, I bought mine from CA and overnight it to my house. One thing from buying from CA the Power Supply for Esata dock station is for Euro only and so have to get a US version. So first thing you need other then the e3 Flasher is an SD CARD at lowest of 200mb and up and a USB Jailbreak Dongle.
It would see that E3 flasher is to install the downgrade files in the NOR chip so you are able to do the downgrade process with the JB Dongle.
I successfully downgraded from 3.73 on my Slim to 3.55 (Spoof 3.70) and install multimanager and played backups np.

E3 Highly suggest to NOT use any other firmware then the one they provided as you could cause Brick. Personally why would you want to try that either way? I am a living witness that E3 Flasher works 100%

I didn't know you needed sd card either. I have a dongle so no probs there. As far as the fw goes. This was for consoles I was trying to fix and sell, thats why I was wondering just to sell the flasher and then sell the consoles the way they are.
