I suggest A 2TB HDD since the new games come in at 20-40 GB/game
both my 2TB are full around 250 games

Western Digital seems the Best in the Business,
Segate/Maxtor breaks down really fast.

about the 3.0 it should work since they are backward compatible but would be useless cuz PS3 only has USB2.0 ports and the cost is much higher .

I know that, we're talking about a HDD that will be used on the PS3 though. We don't want @mimi to go buy a brand new "future proof" USB 3.0 HDD and get a cold shower when he/she gets home and realizes it doesn't work with the PS3. I almost made that mistake when I was buying mine but Google saved the day (and my wallet ).

Dude, don't spread rumors. USB 3.0 is backwards compatible, that's true, the problem is that PS3 isn't "forward compatible" for some reason so it can't "see" a USB 3.0 HDD. If I remember well, a self-powered USB hub fixes that but I'm not sure since I was gathering info on that a long time ago.
