Depends what kinda mod you want, I can flash it. Then yes you can use it online, its just some new games dont currently work and 6 old games (with ap2.5 protection) dont work as well. But c4eva, guy who makes CFW for flashed drives is working on it and all games will work again with lt+3.0 Fw which is coming soon. The best mod you can do though is RGH, its like a CFW ps3 but 100x better, no keys to worry about m. No npdrm its 100% open. All games work, but no live access you can use xlink kai which is intergrated into the custom dash FSD for rgh/jtag. Also I can make your console dual nand, so you can dual boot between stock (so you can go on live etc) and RGH(offline or xlink) with a flip of a switch (literary) its the best of both worlds, also i can flash it so you could play burned games on live on the stock nand, but like i said above there are currently limitations on that.

Flash= online access, some games currently unplayable games must be burnt to dvd+r dl (lt+3.0 FW will fix all games)
RGH=Offline or xlink kai, games run of HDD no disc needed. Homebrew emulators etc. Like CFW ps3 but better. all games work
Dual nand= dual boot between above 2

if all you want is the drive flashed then u want to wait till lt 3.0 comes out with that you will still be able to get online the dual nand is only needed for the rgh to get online
