New Website and Online Repository available

Hi,

I was having problems with the website project hosted at sourceforge for exceeding its bandwidth threshold and I decided to temporally disable the online repository.

I was looking for an alternative hosting to store the repository and then I also decided to migrate the blog to the new website.

For use the online repository, you need to connect the PS3 to the internet, open a lxterminal and download the file:

Code:
wget http://redribbon.t15.org/downloads/online-update-2011-09-23.sh
Then, you can execute it:

Code:
sudo sh online-update-2011-09-23.sh
Best regards

Hello, i was trying out Red Ribbon lately, trying to install it on USB pen drive (4GB).
I am launching it from livecd by bootos-petitboot and lv2 patcher (v9), it runs fine ( other than few I/O errors at begging, tried with 2 other cd burnt from 2 other PC's with freshly downloaded images). The first thing i noticed was that screen resolution was set to 1080p while my TV supports only 720, so everything is hard to read.
As guide said i waited with plugging my USB stick in until i get to installation. It recognized it just fine as /dev/sda 4GB, but it fails to automatically partition it, and manual partitioning option closes cfdisk the moment it starts.
Any idea what can cause that? I am trying to do it on PS3 slim, Red Ribbon RC5, live cd with asbestos boot option.

TL;TR
Red Ribbon fails to partition my USB stick, auto and manual.

EDIT:1366×768 is resolution just for me (windows connected to my TV looks just fine at that resolution), but its not listed in videomodes, any ideas how to set that?

New online update

Hi!

I published a new online update that enables the wireless on slims models.

You need to connect the PS3 to the internet, open a lxterminal and download the file:

Code:
wget http://redribbon.t15.org/downloads/online-update-2011-11-21.sh
Then, you can execute it:

Code:
sudo sh online-update-2011-11-21.sh
You can get more info at project page.

Can you try to create the partitions manually?

You should open a LxTerminal and execute:

Code:
sudo cfdisk /dev/sda
About resolutions, can you try to set manually in xorg.conf?

You can get more information about it at the Project Wiki

Best regards

It isn't a critical update. You don't need this update if you don't have a slim model, but I recommend execute it anyway.
