I wouldn't say rockstar are the prime example of "no lazy" game developers considering piss poor quality of rdr and gta 4 ports,I was really upset because my brother has an xbox and I can clearly see the difference.

Like other people have said, of course there's going to be a noticeable difference between games from older consoles and newer ones.
Developers aren't lazy, they do what they need to do. COD changes very little from game to game because they know people will buy them and play them on name alone (like guitar hero when that was popular!) Battlefield, on the other hand, is trying to gain ground on COD and therefore, each release brings bigger changes. (just an assumption, not played BF3 yet) I tell you what annoys me these days though, and it IS lazy: HD Remakes. I hate myself for being part of the problem, but i've bought the Resi 4 and Halo remakes recently. When the MGS collection comes out, I'll have those too. Take an old game, upscale the graphics, add in trophies/achievements, release. No originality, no fixes to any issues the originals had, just a quick way to make money. But people like me buy the cash-ins anyway, nostalgia's a powerful thing! Here's to more original ideas in the future! |

I say some are definitely lazy, call of duty for example. They've stuck with their tried and tested bullcrap spawning system (you die, spawn in front of an enemy, die again). Some games get it right Socom 4 for example you cant actually spawn kill.
When they make a game spending millions, they call it a AAA title and it features a few small cosmic/gameplay tweaks you gotta ask where the **** are they spending this cash cause its not showing up in these "amazing" games. |

I believe in the saying, "If it's not broke, don't fix it". All the games listed were great and all I want from them is more game time. I hate when new stuff is added and it makes the game worse. I love all the Uncharted and inFamous games. There is nothing lazy about any of those games.
Funny how I do not see God of War on that list. Every single GOW is the same, yet the games are all amazing. |

I for one think that game developers are not lazy, I know because I am studying exactly this, and believe me it takes a lot of effort to put out a game, from the storyboards to animation, to the gameplay, motion capture and level design, and implementing it in the game engine, getting the voice overs for the cinematics as well as for ingame gameplay. So, there's a whole team that works around the clock day and night on this. Oh and @Annelies, you forgot to mention Oblivion to Skyrim, and Arkham Asylum to Arkham City, Saints Row 2 to Saints Row 3. So, I shall say NO, game developers are not lazy.

it has nothing to do with being lazy its just they want a bunch of money. if retards will buy the same game every year why should they change it. also how much change do you think they will achieve in 2 years rockstar had 4 years in between san andreas and 4. the devs of cod do not care about the fans they care about money and if the can keep repacking the same games over and over and people will still buy it. why should they stop? if people stopped buying the games they would change

I have never liked the COD series to begin with, but with certain games, yes it takes time and patience to develop one hell of a game.

this is so not fair, I mean, are you complaining for graphics ? come on, wait for ps4 and xbox 720 and you'll see the big jump, and the difference in all those games are the storyline :o most of us cares about the story of the games and not just graphics, and for MVC those are a bunch of thieves the could easily give some chars for free in dlc but the rather charge for each one and which is worse, sell a new "game" but with 8 more characters.
