This is a POC for a isolated spu binary. Generate a self encrypted+signed with

the metldr keys out of friday.elf. Then use friday.h to write a PPU application

that loads the self by utilizing metldr and DMAs your console's EID2 to the

shared SPU LS. It will generate the P and S block from it, that is used to pair

the BD drive to the specific console. Yon can then DMA the blocks out from the

LS and send them to the drive to remarry it to the console.



Communication with the SPU is done over in_mbox and out_mbox. MSG_OUT_* is

send from the SPU code to out_mbox. MSG_IN_* should be written from the PPU

to in_mbox. When MSG_OUT_READY arrives the PPU should DMA the EID2 to

EID2_START and send MSG_IN_READY. When MSG_OUT_GEN_DONE arrives the PPU should

DMA the blocks out from BLOCKS_START and send MSG_IN_DIE.



Note: this is UNTESTED but should just work :P

i don´t understand this what is remarry bd drive ? is the bd drive console specific and can´t be change with other ps3 bd drives ?

when you downgraded your ps3 at first it would break your blueray drive you had to remarry it. correct me if i am wrong

So this seems interesting. I wonder if this method bypasses the necessity to downgrade and therefore have a semi-functioning logic board to do so. I know it is a long shot but can anyone confirm if the hardware for the SPU LS is located on the MOBO or on the logic board itself?j

I am guessing the logic board on account of the fact that you cannot have one logic board married to 2 ps3s (I guess Sony isn't Mormon) but you can have more than one logic board married to one ps3? Or is it that there is cross talk and only one logic board can marry one mobo?

EDIT: Oh and what does it mean to DMA something? I am not familiar with this jargon.

every ps3 had got a logic board which is connected to the motherboard and bd drive . the logical board is made for 1 ps3 only , and that is theps3 it was made for life . before cfw etc u could not change the logicl board as it was married 2 1 ps3 . but now devs found away how to remarry logcal board from a diffent ps3 which we was able to do while downgrading . i guess this is a new way to remarry it .
b4 cfw ect when thre logic board broke the ps3 would work but u wouldnt be able to play games , nor psn games or update asit would fail . but now things are diffent and we can bring them ps3 back to life . .

you are on about when the 1st downgrade when some fat ps3 lost some files to play blu ray movies . but that dont happen now unless you downgrade the oldway , but theeis afix for that too but this is not the fix for what u thought it was . hope that help you understand a bit more

This is what I do not understand... I have gone through the whole remarry process after I broke one of the rivet cables on the logic board. In this case I was able to play games from internal and update just fine the only problem was that I could not play from disc for the BD drive was not recognized. So I did the remarry process, presumably the old way since I lost blu ray playback, and now the drive is recognized.

So my question is, in the case where your logic board is busted to the point that the symptoms you specified were occurring (no update, no games, no psn games) then how would you downgrade enough to do the remarry process? I mean it is quite a process including the use of otheros and what not. Is there a better process now aside from this one?
