Can anyone tell me what .RAP and .EDAT files are used for?

so if i install a game through multiman, would i need to install those 2 files also or will they automatically be picked up by multiman, the .edat and .rap are also in a folder, should i extract them to the root of my usb along with the .pkg file

na no need of those files unless you want PSN content which is not necessory just copy paste games to play
edat and rap files you would need if you want to install PSN themes
for that you need to patch yor ps3 with reactpsn

thanks for clearing that up, so i only need the rap and edat files for themes and unessesary games content which isnt needed?, thanks a lot!!

also i dont suppose you know what .sfv files and .r30 and .r31 files are used for?, ive just extracted outrun and found these with the .pkg file

Those are Rar archives...you need a program like winrar to extract the contents within them.

I would not go & say -> (unnecessary games )

If you owned DLC or games & lost them for what ever reason .You can now get them with Rap files & ReactPns 2.0 ,cause we are on CFW 355 & Sony are little baby's = Block us from what we bought ! You can get almost all of it back if you know what you are doing !

but they do not look anything like .rar files, the.r30 and r.31 files have a thumbnail with just a white sheet ( like the pkg files) and i extracted some rar files for a game and got:

1 .pkg file
1 .r30 file
1 .r31 file
1 .sfv file

i know the .pkg file if used to install the game but i am not too sure what the rest do

just open the .r30 file in winrar
it might have a white sheet as icon but thats just because
it's not the standard file extension winrar supports
unless you set winrar as the default programm to open them
