Is Sony Messing Up With The PS Vita Already ?
Seventeen days until Sony release the PS Vita in Japan and eighty four days for US/EU, it seems Sony may already be messing up, with extortionate pricing on their Memory Cards, GameStop lists the prices as follows:
4GB - $29.99 8GB - $44.99 16GB - $69.99 32GB - $119.99 Now with that in comparison to the run of the mill SDHC Memory Cards: 4GB - $1.60 8GB - $9.61 16GB - $18.45 32GB - $31.49 (Prices of SanDisk SDHC card's on Amazon) Now hopefully this is a huge mistake/typo on the part of GameStop. |

And with the Vita games being bigger then the PSP games lots of people are going to want that 32gb card. But $120 is a little ridiculous, especially when you consider you have to buy the system yet and a couple games.

lol my sundisc memory card on my HD video cam is 32 gb and it cost me only 16 euros,but this is not somethin unusual from sony they always tend to overprice their tech,that is why i dont buy anything from sony the ps3 was the last thing i have bought 5 years ago,and i havent bought anything ever since and dont even consider buying anything from sony,no console no handheld system no TV's no nothing,for consoles i have microsoft and for anything related to HD TV's and other multimedia tech i have LG.Even some of the tech in the ps3 is based on LG patents.

This is just another shortcoming of the vita.
The battery sucks also but I think they are just trying to cash in before 3rd party cards/converters come out like in the psp

I wouldn't say, "Messing up"...it is intentional. People will buy the Vita and they will get home, realize they need a memory card, and go back. At that point they will have no option to buy quality memory for less money, and they won't want to let their precious new Vita go to waste...so they will buy the overpriced memory and that will be that. Sure, some will complain...but it won't stop Vita sales.
They have been doing the same thing with their digital cameras and the overpriced proprietary memory for those for years and years and no one seems to care.
