@TizzyT I would say 20years it might be possible but seriously why would they do that to kids. Look at how many TVs that got broke from thrown Wii remotes, with Holographic consoles kids would be jumping out windows. |

http://www.nextenergynews.com/news1/...hic-1.28b.html ************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* Final fantasy creator says so aswell , and apple seems to have patented the technology damn lol "Yoichi Wada, president of Square Enix, the creators of games such as Final Fantasy XIII (pictured), said future consoles would project 'holographic' games into the living room Apple this week also patented a technology that would project a 3D image and allow users to manipulate virtual objects with their hands. Sony has previously talked of technologies that would use projected light beams to make an image 'float' in the centre of a room. 'The whole thing's hypothetical at the moment, ' says Pat Garratt, editor of leading game news site VG247, whose reporters were at the show. 'The concept hinges on objects being filmed from all angles as opposed to two angles, as you have with stereoscopic 3D - the technology used in films such as Avatar.' If you are thinking of a star-trek style hologram system, even without the feedback, that is a LONG way away, and even then, it will be very expensive. You might notice that even in that sci-fi show, it isn't a console. It is a dedicated room, just one or two of such rooms shared between hundreds or even thousands of people. There is a really terrible movie you need to watch...because it contains what is perhaps the only viable (viable in the sense that it at least works in the sci-fi world) method of doing anything like what you want to do. It is called, "The Lawnmower Man 2". They have things called, "Eye Phones" in that movie that would (in theory) be affordable enough...but even then, it is just a display/control method that connects to a PC. And of course, no such technology exists today as far as I know. ************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* So much for that idea...Apple won't develop it and no one else will bother as long as Apple owns the patent. |

This source is worthless and consider garbage!!!
Second source is more on the lines of what I'm saying......it talks about the future but from the way they are saying it sounds like the distant future as it is hypothetical.

I no thats what I was thinking as soon as I seen apple patent buggers ,
And I said monolopy cause the way you are talking, no ones going to create any new system , I'd like to think otherwise , like some open source platform or even a new platform that some newbie company bursts out from the sticks , Yes I seen lawnmower man, I know the system your talking about just barely shes you got a good memory aint seen that movie in ages , I think maybe you were on the right idea with smoke and lazers maybe projecting with lazers onto smoke of some sort but it would all be one colour and would need a constant smoke, of course talking about a dedicated room, then again if you could contain smoke inside a glass box, but it is only small specs in what will hopefully be dont thrwe one spotlight light source would be great |

thats like layman's hologram. Using different frequency lasers in a clean room (no smoke) will work much better. Idea is that you don't see the lasers ray only when it hits an object like a wall. So using white light (which contains all colors) and a blue light (that will act as a blue filter) crossing paths you can make a blue pixel in a sense float in mid air. PSHHH smoke......who came up with that idea???? lol BTW: this was kind of a joke, and method has not been tested...only though of it just now.
