There are enough real-world conspiracies that have been proven to exist again and again to be worried about the Illuminiati. Why not worry about the countless fake wars created as an excuse to sell weapons, which are paid for by inflation, and built with supposedly new Chinese components that are actually poorly refurbished parts from the 1980's? Or maybe you could worry about the fact that both political parties support this system, and the only things they don't agree on are homosexual rights and if it is better to cut services without lowering taxes or if it is better to raise taxes without increasing services. Or maybe you could be worried about the fact that most of them want to be "Bipartisan" by raising taxes while decreasing services, and using the extra money to create a police state while leaving the economy in an even worse state than it is already in.

NO, you are right...it is less depressing to just assume the world will end in 2012.
