It would be just ok to stop retarded companies like Sony to remove features and sue poor people for no reason and overuse power to deterioriate the law and it's forces.
I don't have any illusion that this would result in anything it points on doing since it's up to a company what they want you to do with their developing market more or less but It seems that this will eventually affect in a good way homebrew scene.

You know... ...It's just nice to have someone that knows that you are not crazy or a pirate when you hack your device, heard that Sony and Sony fanboys?

I wonder though how long it will be before some fanboy somewhere says 'these f***in pirates LOLz use a pc derp'?

Still, I wouldn't be surprised if the US government continue to forbid any modifications to consoles, frankly I consider the passing of mobile phone jailbreaking to be considered a fluke.

I personally like console hacking, not just because of the benefits from it (XBMC anyone?) but also because the flaws can be quite interesting or indeed funny (can someone remind me what a random number is suppose to look like again?).

In fact I've learnt more about how computers work because of console hacking than I ever learnt from my ICT lessons.

Sad but true, especially the f***ing bull**** with fake piracy figures.

Fortunately though few people here give a **** over hacking consoles (it's mainly downloads from what I've seen) so a DMCA exception could still benefit us since hackers here can't be extradited to the US for a twitter post or US hackers could feel safer.

Judge: "Yes, I can see how homebrew can greatly benefit the consumers and help those who have used PS3 consoles to create cheaper, faster supercomputers, helping them make new discoveries faster and ...

Shadow behind judge: "Pssst, here"

Judge: "Excuse me for a second"

Shadow hand over a thick envelope marked with $ sign

Judge: "Yes, well, I can see now that this homebrew is nothing more than piracy in disguise, andit must be dealt with with the utmost care. I see in favour of $ony and the other corporations, we must protect the economy of this country, not help innovation, I mean piracy"

I think the argument is well structured, well I only read the gaming console section. I am glad EFF took the time to compose this document and that people are fighting for their legal rights. I suppose there is something we can all do to help the cause but I am not sure what that is yet. I like to be optimistic but I cant help but anticipate the negative.
