The steps are:

1. Get a True Blue dongle

2. Install the True Blue custom firmware

3. Download patches that allow you to play 3.6+ games with True Blue.

Be prepared for someone to piss and moan about why it is a stupid idea blah blah blah.

after i install the tb cfw i just open mulitman and play my old back ups as well as the new games with the patch? :D

I think so. I think only 3.6+ games require the patch.
