I need a PS3 to experiment (not jk)
Hi all. This is a strange request and probably most of you wont believe me. But my old PS3 stopped working and I need a new one to continue my research.
My goal is to dump the bootldr by using hardware. I have an FPGA kit (Xilinx Spartan 3AN Starter Kit) and I believe I can dump the bootloader (decrypted of course) from RAM by sniffing the bus. The problem is, I don't have my PS3 anymore. And I'm not willing to buy another one to keep testing this. So, if you have a spare PS3 you are not using, you could donate it for the greater good. I promise to release everything I find. I repeat, this is not a joke or a scam. I'm about to become an electronic engineer (1 year left) and I know what I'm doing. You can trust me! I know several of you have PS3 laying around. Thanks for your consideration. Please, trolls stay away! |

************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* maybe you should of kept to the same story as you said on psx psx scene http://psx-scene.com/forums/f177/wha...are-ps3-98016/ the main bit you said "My intention is to be able to install homebrew so I has to be a 3.55 or older firmware"

I hope this is enough proof for you.
The Xilinx FPGA kit I'll be using: ![]() ![]() Very similar to what Geohot used (http://www.eurasia.nu/wiki/index.php/PS3_Glitch_Hack)

Well people shouldn't donate a system to you because of the following reason, they don't know you and the small likely hood chance of this being a scam. Even if you state this is not a scam the chance is still their because they don't know you. And from that I will leave a direct message to other memebers:
BE CAUTIOUS AROUND A POSSIBLE SCAM LIKE THIS, DO NOT DONATE WITHOUT THINKING!!!

Yes, that's completely true. I was thinking in buying one. But I will not use it for development. Simple as that.
