Drive firmware release

Hey guys,
I'm really out of the XBox scene, and asked a friend if he could flash my drive for me. He has my Xbox for a quite a few weeks now, because he says a new firmware is about to be released, and he doesn't want to have to have the same work twice. Guiving the time that has passed, I'm starting to supect and I want to ask if there is indeed an upcoming modded firmare about to be released.
My dirve is a Hitachi 36, if I'm not mistaken.

Alright, I've updated my drive to the new LT2.
But not all games seem to work. I really wanted to have a backup of Batman Arkham City, but it doesn't seem to be able to read the game. An error message appear as I try.
Other XDG3 game seem to work, like Assassin's Creed Revelations or Halo Anniversary. Anyone knows why this is happening?
I see on the webs the game being associated with the tag "XPG". Forgive my lack of knowledge, but what does it mean?

What was the error that you got? You might have flagged yourself.

I don't have the console connected to the internet. It simply says the disk is damaged or needs to be clean. I've already wasted some DVD's on this, so, not the disk. Also tried diferent brands of media (including Verbatin and Data Write). And also tried different burning drives. And I follow the burning instructions step-by-step (check the layer break on the .dvd, use ImgBurn 2.5.6, choose calculate optimal layer break, writing speed 2x, truncate).

Well, with everything you've just said, the burn SHOULD in theory work. The only thing I can think of is a bad rip. Try re-ripping the game from the original disc using the 0800 fw and it will hopefully be able to play. I have 2 backups of this exact game and neither one had any issues. Then again, I have an iHAS 224 rebadge flashed with BurnerMAX, soooo... Yeah. Try another rip. =)

Also, you don't need to be connected to LIVE to flag the console, you just need to insert and attempt to load a game that doesn't pass the AP checks. That said, if that was the case, the error message you would've gotten was "Unsupported Disc", not the dirty disc message, so you should be fine.

I've also tried different rips, no success...

Thanks everyone.
It's been some time, but just like to say that I solved teh problem. My drive model/driver required the backups to be burned 100%, so I had to purchace an liteOn iHas to burn the backups. It works fine now.
