Hey, I was wondering if I could do this of my stock firmware was 3.66. I'm reading on some tutorials that if the stock firmware was 3.56+ then I can't do it.. Thanks!

No you cant, factory firmware has to be 3.55 or below.

Anyway back to my question, i cant seem to find a decent NAND downgrading tutorial/video anywhere, any chance someone who has done this to a ps3 with NAND could make a tut please.

upadate for 4.0

i just read that progskeet is now compatible to downgrade for 4.0 as well but i am guessing there might be some files that are specific to this firmware so was wondering is it possible to get these files and also i think its good time to update this post for the latest firmware as i trust only this website on the final say of the firmware hack for ps3 (DUH!)
i have slim running 4.0 any issues to downgrade by buying the progskeet?

Witch dongle is best to put the ps3 in factory mode? I was searching and most of then talk about jailbraiking from 3.41. E3 card reader or EcliPS3 are able to put the ps3 in factory mode?

E3 Only downgrades NOR Chips, which are found in PS3 Slims and some of the old fats
If you have a FAT model with CECHH or above then you have a NOR chip, if its below that it will be NAND
If you have a ps3 slim it will have NOR but it has to be a certain model for it to be downgraded, if your slim is a CECH-20..A upto cech-251.B then these models can be downgraded, anything that was made after them cannot be downgraded

Progskeet can downgrade both NOR and NAND you just need the right 360 clip for your chip
E3 - Only NOR chips

I'm thinking of getting a progskeet and having my friend solder it in for me, my ps3 is a fat with nor I believe. CECHP01 Hes an expert at soldering and then from there I can do the software side....
I was at a party this weekend and someone updated it via a disc. I've also thought about using teensy++. The main thing I'm worried about, is keeping my files on my hdd intact. Do I have to format my hdd, or will I still be able to use it?

Also If I Use progskeet does it fit in the ps3 with it together?

Could I use this method to unbrick a 3.41 cfw PS3? I messed up appldr and now it seems to be unable to boot into anything, even recovery mode (did the whole thing with harddrives, took it apart and removed battery, etc). If I can get the same console EID and such, I could use those to put into downgrade.bin and flash it with that, would that work?
