Amazon is the only website I would recommend for buying a screen for a few reasons:
1.) The price and shipping are usually either the best or within a few dollars of the best.
2.) The selection is second to none.
3.) The return policies are simply wonderful. Most sites won't let you do a return on a new screen with a few dead pixels or even a whole line of pixels...amazon will let you do a return for a single dead pixel. They will even pay return shipping!
4.) They will even let you do a return for no reason at all...don't like the new screen? Send it back, they won't even charge a restocking fee.

The only thing to keep your eye on is that you are actually buying from Amazon...they represent a lot of other companies that all have their own polices. Make sure it ships from Amazon (it will have free shipping that way anyhow).

Just make sure it supports 1920x1080

Please explain what is expensive for you. I bought a second LED monitor (Philips 227E3L) for my PC for less than 100 euro....

With a PS3 it needs to have 720P (1280x720) support as well.
It also needs to have HDCP and a 16:9 aspect ratio.

LED monitors are still LCD, they are just lit by LED instead of flourescant

The LEDs are a lot smaller than the light bars...but if it is a concern about longevity, just buy a quality brand.

LED TVs do tend to have higher refresh rates, but there are still high speed LCD displays that refresh faster than a slow LED TV. LED TVs also tend to have slightly truer blacks...but again, a good LCD with probably do better than a cheap LED.

Also, there are AMOLED TVs that are actually what you probably originally thought LED TVs were, but they are very expensive, and not usually very big.

Personally I have an LED 40" and I love it. The picture quality is better than anything else I saw in the store with the exception of one plasma...but the plasma screens reflect EVERYTHING in the room and that ruins it for me.
