The PS3 has better hardware specs, but the games are written for the 360. Even when they fix the issues created by porting the game to PS3, they usually don't do anything about the lower quality graphics that the 360 games have.

They actually have to do it this way; porting from a 3 core to a 6 core is a lot easier than going the other way.

It is much more difficult to program on a ps3 than it is on the 360 because the hardware is way more complex. Xbox360 is basically a pentium 4 under the hood which is why it is miles easier to program for.

Someone mentioned Uncharted earlier and they're right. Naughty dog is the company that made Uncharted and they worked around the problem.

But this is a classic example of game companies doing things the easy way in my opinion : Create a game on the 360 and then just simply port it to ps3.
It doesnt work that way and there are more things that need to be fine tuned for a game to be ported to ps3 than these game companies care to think of.

Bayonetta is another example. What a terrible game on the ps3, but on the Xbox it runs great!

Anyway in my opinion games like The Elder Scrolls are designed for PC and should be played on PC because they're always made on PC first then ported to consoles and with that console versions will always have at least a few problems

The 360 has PPC architecture; it is nothing like a P4. It is easier to program for because Microsoft has better toolchains and developer support...but from an architecture standpoint, the two systems are very similar.

Uncharted is PS3 only...that is why it doesn't have the problems that you see so frequently on games ported from the 360.

That’s just sooo wrong. The reason why Uncharted runs sooo smoothly is its optimalization, as discussed here: http://forums.gametrailers.com/threa...unchar/1138074

Better documentation might be around though.

From what I recollect the Uncharted approach to loading the textures are optimized to load from disc, while most other games loads compressed textures to memory, decompresses them, then programmatically put them in the GPU, that’s just sooo old school. Catering for those hardware differences, means that the game vendor understands the difference between consoles and computers.

...and you can be sure they wouldn't have done that if it was developed on the 360.

when all the ps3 fanboys talk about how 'powerful' ps3 is, they never seem to learn that the 360 has DOUBLE the ram than ps3..

PS3 = 256mb RAM
360 = 512MB RAM

THIS is the reason why ps3 can't have cross game chat (in game party/private chat) because it simply doesn't have enough RAM left to do it.

it's proven that the cell processor is much better than 360's cpu, but it's gpu & RAM let it down BIG TIME. which pretty much means the 360's hardware is better than PS3's

having said that i really don't see much difference on multi platform games, a few frame rate issues but it's not that bad, i would never turn down a ps3 over a 360 over things like this, but for some reason a lot of people cry about it :D in the end i believe both 360 & ps3 are at the same level both have its issues & choosing which is better in terms of graphics etc is stupid.

the only reasons i prefer a 360 is because I AM AN ONLINE GAMER, it has gears of war & halo, which i like better than ps3's exclusives. the only ps3 exclusive i like is mgs & uncharted 2 (uncharted 3 multiplayer sucks) also xbox live is way better, you get what you pay for, in game party chat, better menus & cool new updates. psn feels like a lonely disconnected experience lol

@Master.F the ps3 has 512mb also >.<

And this thread is not a pissing contest between consoles

Back On topic. I wonder if editing the configs may help. Comparing the Xbox one with the ps3 version may give some insight into any changes.anyone have both they can do a compare on?
