How's it going guys. I'm new to the forum and jailbreaking PS3's in general, and have been trying to follow the tutorial here. Now I can tell a lot of you are bright guys with regards to this sort of thing so I apologise if I sound really dumb.
Basically I'm trying to install firmware 3.55 with no luck. (I'm currently 3.72). I do as told regarding this but no software is detected when I try to update via storage media on the xmb. So I attempted the system update via the recovery menu, and after a few seconds of scanning, I'm greeted with 'this software is corrupt' Any advice guys? |

One last question. If I was to restore my PS3, would that reset the firmware back to whatever it was when I bought it? I know its a long shot, and Sony are probably smarter than that, but it would help me if it did. I'm prepared to lose everything on the PS3 if it does. ************* [ - Post Merged - ] *************
