Yea the virus was most likely not made for the PS3 system and would have little to no effect on it what so ever.
Also considering how much security it would have to get through lol.

Doubt there will ever be a ps3 virus. Would be too hard to spread.
Nothing stopping people from making fake eboot fixes for games though that delete / files and maybe flash. Would be in sonys interests to do :-( Rich Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk |

no my theory seems more plausible
ps3 choked when playing the 1080p which froze the ps3 while showtime was writing to the Filesystem but i am just giving a warning to ppl about this app.. that it can cause hdd corruption === Just to clarify what happened I install the app -played a 1080p movie, was rewinding the movie etc and it froze the ps3... (also it said on screen cpu is too slow to play this movie etc) -had to power off of the ps3 -restarted it and all my apps/games was gone. -only way to fix was to do a format of the filesystem via recovery menu. -now all my saves is gone.. It happened to me, and the problem was the hard disk. It was exactly as you said, I was rewinding the video, the ps3 froze and all my appz/games were listed as "unknown" after that. Its a strange coincidence, but I think is not showtime fault.
I replaced the HD and the problems are gone. Using showtime with no problem for months. Sorry about my bad english. |

Are you guys hitting the switch on in the back when you freeze? I freeze ALOT playing with Navi-x in Showtime and I never have any problems. Just hold down the power button in front. Maybe I'm just lucky.
