iit's simply because they are a big company and government entity's kiss ass to big company's does'nt matter how major of a concern it is to individuals all the dumb restriction in products kill innovation and creating a smarter society other then the people who have big money to give there familys and other captian kiss ass's doesnt sound liek sony had to even say much to get them to dismiss the case sure the judge prolly had no knowledge of what an OtherOS even is or could hardly care

Love how they neglect to mention how if you don't update the firmware you can't play any other newer games which defeats the whole purpose of having a PS3 when you can't play all the games. Oh and do games tell you on the package which firmware it requires no you have to searching the internet to find that out.

As other's have said, our only sane course of action now is to NEVER buy anything from sony... unless you're buying second hand (personally I'm not even doing it that way). We should also be sure to inform other's of sony's suck level; I reckon many of us here are the "tech advisors" for our families/friends. In the past year I have gotten my sister to stop buying sony-ericcson phones, my brother to stop buying... well he would have bought sony underwear if they had those, but not anymore, I also got a few friends to buy other brand electronics. What I'm trying to say is, we're a far worst enemy than sony has given us credit for, and we don't even need to hack their servers/consoles/whatever we just need to tell people what they are capable of, and what could potentially happen to them should they decide to spend money on sony crap.

Sure we could just do nothing about it, but I rather get the satisfaction of knowing "Hey, I just cost sony $2500 by suggesting this guy buy an LG tv" If I had time I'd go to best buy just to steer people away from sony products LOL!

Anyways, if the legal system isn't going to give sony it's just deserts... let's all band together and f*ck them as much as possible (not asking anybody to do anything illegal though)

For every console that had its OtherOS function stripped, Sony should have to repay the customs fees, to the appropriate authority.

This is so predictable, or someone expected that the Courts would force Sony to restore the OtherOS feature (and why not the backwards compatibility as well, ).

Nothing..... the way we have OtherOS++ now is way better (even without the RSX support) than $ony will ever give us if they were forced to. So the real OtherOS lovers won't update to 4.0 (even with a possible $ony OtherOS) anyway You lose $ony and we have won long time ago
