Some fail to realize that the PS3 is much more powerful then any home PC at its time. For a fairly decent price spec wise. The game might not run right for the same reason why software doesn't run right on PCs, there are bugs and glitches, maybe even inefficient code or memory leaks. The PS3 is a computer its only a machine, it has a CPU and a GPU it only does what its told to do so if its told to mess up or do something very inefficient it will do it no questions asked. I will agree on the thought that the game was just poorly developed (programmed) and that it didn't running on the PS3 system efficiently. I remember when I first got oblivion for PC...it was (at east on my system) buggy and in some instances froze, it didn't crash so I has to manually close it through task manager. But then updates came out and I eventually got to play the whole game through. I would expect to see updates to the game to fix these issues that people are having but if they are lazy as stated it might not even happen.

if you think about it a ps3 is only costing £200 new and for that you cant really get a brand need computer that's any better, so id say your statement might be a bit hearse. we need to remember that a ps3 isn't sold as a computer its a gaming console/ multimedia system which it does pretty good most of the time. I watch movies, play music, view pictures all perfect and nearly all games work with no issues.

It's an Acer though...

As for people stating Bethesda creates unfinished/buggy games, one thing comes to mind... the Fallout series As wonderful as it is, you think they would have the SAME bugs that have been plaguing the series all ironed out by now... but no...

It isn't just Bethesda games that look and play better on this old POS, but they make a great example because they are not optimizing the game on any platform and it still manages to function on a PC.

Really? Because it launched at a price higher than what I spent to build this PC around the same time.

I have looked at Uncharted...it looks like crap. Sure, it loads and runs fine, but it is on rails, what do you expect? Seriously...take a good look at a PC game running on a 4-5 year old video card and Uncharted will look seem like an N64 game.

I know that I mentioned a game that happens to have a lot of stability issues on the PS3, but it is more than that. Every game I have tried looks better on this old computer than it does on the PS3. You can't really say it is lazy developers when every game looks worse.

The PS3 launched at $500, which is about what it cost me to build this PC at about the same time. The PC was built with quality parts and hasn't had the slightest issue since...my PS3 has needed repairs on multiple occasions due to the cost-cutting measures Sony used. This PC wasn't even built with gaming in mind...I had just bought a PS3 and the PC was build for CAD. Sure, the CELL is still a great chip...but with a crummy video chip and no ram, it really can't shine in anything except folding. As for multimedia system, the PS3 totally fails there...it can't even play an MKV, and it blocks my DVD backups!!!

I did once...then Sony started being Sony.

No...but a used $200 PC probably can...take away the RAID arrays, the TV tuner, and the rack-mount case, and that is about all my current rig is worth.

Anyway, not trying to ruffle any feathers, just wanted to share my amazement of how bad my PS3 looks next to my crummy old PC now that I give them a fair comparison.

...And to a certain extent, I want to remind anyone thinking of replacing their YLOD'd system that the PS3 is an old platform and you can get better graphics, better controls, more features, better reliability, and cheaper games for only a little more money.

...That is, unless you are doing Folding @hom e or something...then the PS3 really is the best bang for the buck because Folding @hom e doesn't need ram or graphics.

Hmm you do bring up a good point how alot of games look worst on the PS3 and better even on an older PC. The developers believe it or not is still in control of that, they determine what the game looks like as a final result. Now of course they will have reasons on why they change the looks on a PS3 compared to the PC version, maybe it was hardware limitations, software limitations of maybe even both and then I also cant rule out the possibility of lazy developers. But that being said you still made a good point . The PS3 should at least look better in some multi-platform titles but this isn't always the case.

That is the exact reason I almost didn't buy one(about 6 months ago). I broke down and bought one because the computer won't do split screen gaming. Basically bought one to play with friends and family on one tv. As for the p.o.s. I posted earlier, I'm sure it can studder its way thro just the same as ps3, as sad as that is. 512 split memory come on sony
