For @Pirate to detect it he would need hawk eyes. I didn't want to post this because of people cheating the contest but after the contest is over, this will be good for educational purposes.

i thought i read somewhere that there are programs that can calculate if a piucture is photoshoped or not?

Those programs can also detect the camera it was taken from (some) aside from detect what program edited it. Also determine the legitimacy of a photo.

Well if a photo seems too unbelievable then it most likely is.

why would pirate waste his time its not like the prize is something big like a huge amount of money

Coz the rules of the competion are that the picture is real and not photoshopped, what would be the use if some miracle worker with photoshop would win? then all our honest entry's would be useless.

i have yet to see you make an entry so i dont under stand why it bothers you so much and it is not hard to tell that it is shopped, hell when kamel showed every one that pic on the irc i thought the sign looked funny

Coz i have till the 17th, and since my idea involves stuff i haven't got in my home and i got a working girl and a child i aint got lots of time.

and i wasnt talking about kamels pic, i just wanted to ask if the photo's would be checked.

I'm not here to argue about these things, it was just an honest question.

Ps. when you see my picture you know why it bothers me atm, coz it wouldve been easyer then just to photoshop it. If my entry doesnt come THEN bash be, not while the competition is still running

They can't always be trusted...and even when they do work they get a lot of false positives. My entry was cropped and downsized with photoshop, so it would detect as being photoshoped...but I am sure that is not the kind of photoshoping that the contest prohibits.

Then again, I am also sure that my s**ty picture won't win...so it doesn't matter either way.

BTW...for the note, wouldn't it be easier to just do it on paper, take a picture, and modify that picture so the paper colors match? That way you are not just limited to characters; you can have anything you like.
