Hey, i am going to upgrade my PS3 to OFW 4.0, i have few questions tho.
Will my saves save in the upgrade? Can i play online with second-hand games (or if i borrow game from someone else). What do i need not to get my console banned (in any bad case)?

yes your legit save game data should be fine when u upgrade to 4.0

as for second hand games well new games have online pass so if u borrow game and u want to play online like BF3,R3 ect ect u will need to buy code from psn for 10$ and then u can play online multiplayer.

Don't worry sony didin't ban anyone who has used CFW in past ,u will be safe on that part,just reformat HD if u really want to then update your ps3

I can answer for the used games part. With most you can play, but some use a key that is bound to the psn account(sony psn pass), so once its been used you cant use it again elsewhere. Uncharted 3 is that type of game for example.

The thing is i have almost no legit saves, only prototype, rest was from 'backups'.
And i hope Sony isn't ****ed up enough to ban people who want to play games legitly, probably just gonna do a format tho then.

backup saves should be fine,as i said sony will not ban you,they never banned any CFW users before

just remember to save your save game files on USB or something before formating HD
